I live in Summit County Ohio. Have grub worms been identified as a problem that Summit County homeowners should protect their lawns against? If yes, what is the best protection?

White grubs are the larvae of various beetles, including Japanese beetles and May/June beetles.  White grubs can be found in all counties in Ohio.  Some years the infestation is worse that in others.  If you have had problems with white grubs in the past, you may want to put down a preventative treatment before mid June. Otherwise, a healthy lawn can sustain an infestation of moderate populations of insect pests (6-8 per square foot) without extensive impact on health or appearance. See the link below for more info:
