Each summer either aphids, red& black bugs attack my milkweed. By late summer the stems are coated with a sticky black substance that attracts flys rendering these beautiful plants untouchable and unsightly. Thought I’d try to get ahead of it this year. Are these photos larve or eggs of the attacker? How can I prevent this from happening?

This web page reminds us that an insecticide that could kill the unwanted insects could also kill the Monarch Butterfly caterpillar.
