no fruit on my Macintosh apple tree #871390

Asked June 03, 2024, 5:54 PM EDT

I planted a Macintosh Apple tree a few years ago. The tree has grown well however, I never get any fruit. Rarely are there any flowers compared to my other fruit trees. Is there a reason for this? Should I use a specific fertilizer or is there something else going on? Thanks, Elliot

Expert Response

Usually if there is no fruit, it is a pollination concern and you should confirm you have the correct partner tree for it. However, if it isn't flowering, maybe something else is going on.How do you care for it? Is it growing as your other trees do? How healthy do the leaves appear? Is there any sign of disease or wounds on the bark?
Perhaps include a couple photos: one showing the whole tree in the area it is growing, and another closer, showing a branch with a few leaves.
