Hi Keith,
I really can't tell the size but it sort of looks like a Carpenter ant.

I need more information such as ; where are you seeing them?, what are they doing? and how big are they?

We’re no longer seeing them. Previously we had been seeing them over a 2-3 week period of time. They would be either on the kitchen counter, the kitchen floor or on the adjoining dining room floor. We rarely saw more than one at a time and over the 2-3 week period probably saw a total of 14 ants. They were generally quite big (seemed about 1/2” long or a little more), solitary, and very fast once they knew you were after them. As I said they seem to have now disappeared, however, we’d be interested in anything additional you might have to say. I’ve attached a few more photos to this note and for a sense of scale the aluminum capture containers are 1 3/4” in diameter. .

Thank you.

They may just be scouting and not finding what they are looking for. Keep an eye out for them and if they reappear I would set out bait/poison.
Good luck
