Spots on mountain mint leaves #871365

My mountain mint plant has developed yellowing leaves with spots. What is the cause of these spots and what can I do about it? I think that I should have trimmed the plant back earlier in the season. It is in very close proximity to my milkweed bed, which is considerably larger than last year.

Hi, 

Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate leaf discoloration from a disease or insect feeding. This looks like it is a type of insect feeding to us but it could be also be a leaf spot disease. Either way the overall damage does not look that bad nor would we suggest any type of chemical control. If the entire plant seems to decline you could just cut back and it should regrow. 

You can monitor symptoms and reach back out with any more concern.
