We have what we believe to be several Giant Hogweed plants in our side yard. When we purchased our home several years ago we were told that it had been present in the past and that they had someone from MSU come to remove it. Please direct us to whom that might be that would be able to identify and remove for us. Thank you

Your plants appear to be Giant Hogweed, but a few other plants can be mistaken for hogweed. That is why it's important to get a definitive identification. Please see the article below. It gives great information about identifying giant hogweed and what to do if you believe this is hogweed.
It is important that you do not touch the plant or try to treat it yourself until you know what you are dealing with.

I made a phone call to the 800 number listed on the article I sent you. I found out that you should call the following person:
Suzanna Iott (iott)

Hi Margo,
Thank you very much for your responses. We have been in touch with Suzanna and she did confirm that it is indeed giant hogweed. She advised us as to whom to contact at the Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA). We are awaiting a response back from them.
