Yes, this is a good time to plant a baby fig tree. They grow best in at least 8 hrs. of direct sun each day. Warming winter weather is reducing, somewhat, the risk of winter injury of unprotected figs. If you are in a cooler part of the county, you may want to consider providing some winter protection.
Planting on the southside of a building can also help protect figs from extreme cold.
