No doubt most questions about perennials is whether are hardy enough for our zone. My question however is whether a hardy deciduous perennial can forgo its dormant period so can be used as a houseplant - specifically a Variegated Solomon's Seal/Polygonatum?

Expert Response
We have not heard of it being used as a houseplant and suspect that it needs its cold-period dormancy.
