Is Kolkwitzia amabilis invasive in Maryland

Calvert County Maryland

Expert Response

No, Kolkwitzia amabilis is not currently listed as an invasive species in Maryland. This is based on the reference page from the Maryland Invasive Species Council. There is only 1 documented observation of this plant found outside of a garden setting in a park in PG County.

It is a non-native species, introduced from China.
