Apple tree repair #871087

Asked June 01, 2024, 5:47 PM EDT

Good afternoon - Our Apple tree tipped over in a recent storm. The tree is resting on the ground. The roots are still partially buried. Should we set it back up and stake it? We would be grateful for your advice. Thank you.

Thank you for reaching out to ask2.extension.

Yes I would tip the tree upright, stake it and be sure that the roots are covered again.  Be sure to keep it watered for the rest of the summer.  You may lose leaves, but hopefully it will recover.  You may not know for sure until next spring.

I hope it works.
