What kind of tick? #871039

Please help me identify this tick. Upper Marlboro MD the picture is the tick is on a piece of notebook paper. Thanks!

Your tick is bloated, indicating that it has fed for a time.

Based on your photos this is likely either a brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) or an asian longhorned tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis). We cannot tell for sure based on the photos.
