What would be a good evergreen shrub that grows maximum 6 feet tall to cover a fence

We can share some ideas, but more information is needed first so we can provide a helpful list of candidates:

How much direct summer sun does that area receive? (Full sun is 6-8 or more hours of unobstructed sun.)
Does the soil drain well, tend to dry out fast, or tend to stay wet? (Is there a nearby roof downspout outlet?)
How far from the fence (is the fence open or solid?) will the shrub be planted? How wide can it get without having to prune in?
What is the minimum shrub height you prefer?
Do deer browse in the yard? Does the shrub need to be deer-resistant?
