what killed my plants #871031

Asked June 01, 2024, 9:14 AM EDT

hello, we use Deer Stopper on our gardens to keep deer from foraging. Last fall we put our unused portion in the basement which we do every year if there are any leftovers. This April, probably later month and now all the plants I sprayed, including my wonderful native garden have died! I am heartbroken. My question is..... will these plants come back or are they a goner? The ingredients in Deer Stopper are only egg, rosemary oil and mint oil.

Expert Response

Contact the manufacturer of Deer Stopper to see if it could be the culprit. Did your plants sprout and then die when sprayed or just not come up this spring? The first three ingredients in the inert section might be the culprits, although my research on Kaolin says it is white clay, Potassium Sulfate is fertilizer and Sodium Chloride is table salt. Check to see if some other cause could be the problem, excessive rain for example.
