growing Zephirine Drouhin...it is about 6 years old, flowers well each year
flowered normally early in May, and now some odd shoots have come up from the base of the plant...not a normal looking cane for next year
it looks like flower buds on it, but it is not that for sure
happened last year as well
any info on what it is would help
I just cut them out

Zephirine Drouhin is a gorgeous old rose.
Unfortunately, that looks like an invasive, systemic disease called Rose Rosette and there is no cure.
It is recommended that is be dug up, bagged and put in the trash.
