Dutch Elm Disease? #870902
Asked May 31, 2024, 9:35 AM EDT
We have two beautiful Elm Trees in our front yard. They are approximately 30 years old and about 30-35 feet in height. Just this past week (on just one of the trees) many of the leaves started to turn brown and some of the top branches have no leaves. We are very concerned about the tree having Dutch Elm Disease which of course can be fatal for an Elm. Any suggestions on treatment or recommendation for a reputable Arborist to work with would be welcomed! Thanks so much, Craig

We would be better able to assist you if we had some additional photos.
How sure are you that the tree is an American Elm?
We are not able to enlarge your photo to see any detail and would like to see a clearly focused photo or two of a branch with some leaf detail. (Leaves may be 'compound' meaning multiple leaflets can make up what is considered an actual leaf.) You can attach up to three photos at a time directly to this reply.
We are happy to take a look and advise.
