No Mow May in Minneapolis? #870752

Asked May 30, 2024, 12:09 PM EDT

We are landlords in NE MPLS. Our NE tenants, as required in their lease, are responsible for mowing the yard. We supply the mower however they have not mowed as they are observing NO MOW MAY. Does the City of Minneapolis still support No Mow May? We are fearful the city will issue us a citation and fee for unkept yard. I can't find my answer via Google. Also called 311 and they had no confirmation either way. Hoping you may have my answer. Thank you.

We don't know whether the City of Minneapolis has ever waived lawn height regulations to allow No Mow May.  And we are surprised dialing 311 didn't resolve the question.  Did you try the alternative number:<personal data hidden>?

After experts reviewed the efficacy of No Mow May, some cities that promoted it have adopted a Mow Twice May, Less Mow May, or Slow Mow Summer policy.
