How to eradicate bamboo #870740

Dear Extension Service: I had a bamboo patch on my property - the bamboo was 2" in diameter and grew 25' to 30' high. The patch was at least 2,000 square feet in area. In 2021 I sawed it all down to ground level. Since then I have been mowing and applying glyphosate weed killer. The bamboo continues to sprout up. How can I completely eradicate it? Thank you.

Expert Response
Removal options are included in our Containing and Removing Bamboo web page. An approach using a combination of physical removal with herbicide treatment of any regrowth is usually the most successful since it weakens the plant faster than either method used alone, but given the tenacity and vigor of running bamboo, the process will probably need to repeat itself multiple times (and potentially across several years) to be fully successful.
