Expert Response

I can't say for sure because it is very difficult to identify moths from photographs and I just can't quite see all of the parts that I would need to see well to identify this one. That said, this looks a lot like a rosy maple moth (Dryocampa rubicunda). They are fairly common in Michigan. They are in the family Saturniidae and the immature (caterpillar) stage feeds on maple and oak leaves. They are not harmful though and you can enjoy their presence in around your home. You can read more about them here: https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Dryocampa_rubicunda/
