Apples on Apple Tree #870716

Asked May 30, 2024, 9:41 AM EDT

We planted two new apple trees. A Haralred and a Honeycrisp. They blossomed and have a few apples. Should we remove these apples this first year?

Expert Response

There probably aren't enough apples to stress the trees. If the tree feels it can't handle them, the fruit will drop. You will want to thin in future years as the crop gets larger, but if there are just a few blossoms, they should be fine.
