clover worms in soybeans #870709

Asked May 30, 2024, 9:26 AM EDT

We planted soybeans in a multipecies cover crop that was terminated at planting, the mix had alfalfa in it and now the emerging beans are under heavy pressure, not sure if we should spray an insecticide? See if they can grow through it? Or if we should spray and replant. Approximately 20 of 48 acre field.

You will have to decide if the damage is too extensive and if you want to use a pesticide.

First, be sure you can identify them as clover worms.you should also assess if the infestation is growing, ebbing or waning.
