Peach tree disease help #870549

Asked May 29, 2024, 9:47 AM EDT

I have a Red Haven peach tree that is 3 years old now. Each year it has had red spots on the leaves and end up dropping most of its leaves. This year I notice that the tree also has cankers with clear goo oozing from them on the trunk and branches. I have been spraying the tree with copper fungicide. I am now wondering if the tree is beyond help or if there is a suggested treatment to help it heal. I am not sure if the dropped leaves are from the leaf spot or if it’s caused by me spraying the copper fungicide regularly. I appreciate any help.

After a lot of research I believe the spots on leaves is leaf spot. The cankers are something else. If you go to the website: and type in gardeningknowhow.com and go to the search box at the top:cankers on fruit trees: and why tree is oozing color sap, you can get a good explanation of what is going on with your tree. I also think you should call an arborist out to confirm what the website is saying. They are tree specialists and they can see first hand what is going on with your tree. Thanks for your question.
