moths #870532

Asked May 28, 2024, 11:36 PM EDT

This year we have had moths in our family room & laundry room. The door into the attached garage is in the laundry room and have seen them even more so in the garage by the door. I've attached a marginal picture, my husband smooshed it a little too much, so sorry! Tried traditional bug spray and it has cut them down. Background info, we had bird seed from Horrocks last fall that apparently hatched the moths. We have gotten rid of all that prior to winter. These little guys are about 1/4 ". Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello -
It sounds as if you have an infestation of pantry moths.  You got rid of the birdseed before winter - do you store any other seed or grain in your garage?  If so, they probably found it.  The best treatment is to eliminate any type of grain you have in that area.

I hope this helps.
