Mealybugs #870463

Asked May 28, 2024, 3:49 PM EDT

Hello, I seem to have a bunch of mealy bugs on my hawthorn tree. Can you recommend specific things I can do right now to get rid of them. Will spraying soapy water on the tree help or do I need a certain product.

Expert Response

Thanks for contacting us about your hawthorn. Hawthorn mealybugs can be difficult to manage or control with foliar (spraying leaves) treatments. These insects have a waxy covering (the white stuff) that protects them well. See the link below for details on what to treat them with, when to treat them, and how to control their return next year.
