This is our drainage ditch on our property. We cut down all the cattails.
1) is there a way to remove cattails permanently without chemicals?
2) can we use water softener salt in ditch to kill off cattails or would that sterilize soil and make it impossible to plant something else?
3) is it possible to plant ilex verticulata (winterberry)to absorb water ?
