Mint plants from my neighbor’s garden are invading my garden. Rhizomes come under the fence. I want to put an underground barricade on my side. How deep do I need to go to prevent them from growing under the barrier?

Hi Stephen, I couldn't find much info on CSU about Mint roots but I did find this from another Master Gardner program. Mint roots are rather shallow, based on this and other online content the roots grow about 5 inches deep. So, based on this I would say your barrier should be at least 5 inches.
