Hi. I have a pear tree that was planted about 5 years ago. It seems to have issues on the trunk. Pictures attached. What should I do?

Canker (a symptom of disease) is present on the trunk.  We don't know what pathogen caused it, but fire blight is likely.  Compare here:

The only way to know for sure is to send samples of the affected area to the Minnesota Plant Disease Clinic.

Although twig and branch cankers can often be removed, trees with trunk cankers are usually lost.
