Burdock Root Infestation #870253

Asked May 27, 2024, 11:21 AM EDT

Hello-I am having a horrible infestation of Burdock root both in my vegetable garden beds and all over my backyard lawn. I don't know how to get rid of it becaue horticultural vinegar will kill all of my garden vegetable plants. I would like to know how to get rid of it both in my garden and all over my lawn. Do I have to wait until the fall when growing season is over, and if so, what do I do then? Can I get rid of it in my lawn now? Thanks so much!

Hi Lisa...sorry to hear you are being invaded by Burdock root - it's a nuisance out here!  Some info on noxious weeds appears below:

For Common Burdock, you can pull them out by hand, mow them, and/or apply the recommended herbicides as per manufacturer's direction (preferably before they start to bud).  I hope this is helpful, take care,
