Pine trees on property going full brown #870240

Asked May 27, 2024, 9:51 AM EDT

We live along a recently abandoned canal in SE Bend and we have numerous pines that are turning full brown. I don't believe the issue is the change in water but possibly some sort of insect infestation. Would help in identifying the source of the issue and what options there are for remedy. Would love to not have to bring the trees down if possible.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your question about your browning ponderosa pine trees.

I recommend that you contact a local ISA certified arborist to examine your trees. You can find one in our area using this website:

If you need additional information or would like to talk with our local community horticulturist, I recommend you call the Deschutes County OSU Extension office in Redmond at<personal data hidden> and ask to speak with Amy Jo Detweiler (oregonstate.edu). Amy Jo welcomes your home garden questions and is a great resource. She may have additional ideas for you.

Wishing you all the best with your trees.
