Most of my yard is nice and thick but few areas this season is thin. See images between thick areas and thin. How do I thicken the thin area? What is causing it to thin in some areas? Last year the thin areas were thick.

Light is the most likely reason for changes in the quality of your lawn. Lawns need 8 hours of sun per day. Less than that and the lawn thins out. I am also seeing what looks like powdery mildew in the right photo:

This may be related to sunlight, or to watering practices, or to air circulation in that part of the lawn.
