How to Find a Professional Arborist #870167

Asked May 26, 2024, 3:30 PM EDT

Hello. I am having issues with woodpeckers on trees in the back yard peeling large amounts of bark from the trees. I'd like to find a professional arborist but don't know how reliable Google searches are and there are a lot of tree ;care' services out there. Any advice on a way to filter through it all? Appreciate any help you can give me.

Expert Response

Good Morning David,

Thank you for contacting the U of M Extension Service.

If your trees are Ash trees, they may have emerald ash borer damage. The woodpeckers peck at the bark to access the larve of the insect.
