reading the june garden calendar, it seems to recommend watering lawns shallowly and frequently. this goes against all lawn watering advice i've read over the last ten years that says to water deeply and infrequently. do you stick by this plan?

Yes, water light and frequent, unless you have tall fescue. Here is an extension bulletin summarizing some of the irrigation work we have done at OSU in the last 10 years...
