Star jasmine red leaves, dying #870022
Asked May 24, 2024, 11:12 PM EDT
Star jasmine leaves turning red, some spots and then brown and curling. Perhaps blight? Found copper fungicide but afraid it might hurt our dog who chews on our plants. Is there an effective, safe spray to kill fungus?

Thank you for your questions. We are unable to provide a diagnosis nor control recommendations without clear photos of the leaves, both top and bottom. Here is a short summary of the most common diseases: https://nhb.gov.in/pdf/flowers/jasmine/jas002.pdf
This lists insect and environmental factors which might also be contributing: https://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/GARDEN/PLANTS/jasmine.html
You can attach photos to your response, take leaf samples into your county Extension office (https://extension.oregonstate.edu/washington), or send samples to the OSU Plant Clinic (https://bpp.oregonstate.edu/how-submit-plant-materials). Good luck!
