Leaning trees #870002

Asked May 24, 2024, 6:55 PM EDT

I have apple trees that are leaning due to wet week soil. I'm looking for information leading to someone that may offer repairing this issue. A company that would help straighten them?

Hi,

Apple trees do not like having wet feet. If they are in wet soil for extended periods of time it can cause the roots to "suffocate" and really damage the trees. I would recommend transplanting them to drier soil if that is an option.

I do not believe that this is an available commercial service. However, apple trees are frequently trellised. Depending on the age of the trees, you can install posts to provide extra support to the trunks.

A leaning tree can still be quite healthy! But, apple trees will decline in poor soil conditions.

Best,
