I would like to know how to remove from a yard the weed in the attached photo.

Hi,
There are actually 2 "weeds" in your picture: wild violets (the heart-shaped leaf) and some white clover.
Most of the broad spectrum herbicides that will kill these weeds will also kill the turf. The best way to manage them is to improve the turf so it crowds out the weeds.
