slugs frogs and beer #869945

Everyone recommends putting out beer to kill slugs. But we also have frogs, does that endanger them? Thanks

Expert Response

Frogs readily absorb moisture and other substances through their skin. We don't know how likely it would be for a frog to deliberately wander into a beer-baited slug trap, but if one did wind-up stuck in one, then yes, we presume it would harm them.
