Herbicide damage on Bleeding Heart and peonies #869803

Asked May 23, 2024, 2:36 PM EDT

Our lawn was sprayed approx 2 weeks ago and now my bleeding heart and peonies are curling, they have blossoms that appear to be opening. I am wondering if I just leave them alone or should I cut them back. We have hade approx 1.5 inches of rain since the lawn was sprayed.

Expert Response

There is nothing to be done except to keep your fingers crossed the dose was low. Hopefully they will be able to come back from the roots. The plants have already absorbed the weed killer if it was a spray. If a granular, slow release product was applied try to remove any granules but the rain has probably dissolved them.
