I have a very large old oak tree on my property that has shown signs of disease. Fungus, dead limbs and wood ants. I would like to save it if possible. Can you advise on what to do?

It is indeed a very old tree and beautiful! You best option at this point is to contact an arborist. Go to the below website and type in your zip code. There is a list of licensed arborists that will come out and take a look at your tree.
