Ive seen spiders like this a couple of times in my apartment, it is surprisingly large, about 1-1.5 inches across. Dark color and slender. It was walking across the ceiling and high on the walls at a steady pace. I usually see these on the ceiling or high walls. I didn't see much of any webs but it seemed to alternate between walking and rappelling itself up or down on probably a strand of web maybe 5-12 inches at a time. I timidly attempted to catch the spider but it walked away from me and retreated into the closet. It did not jump or fly.
