Plant identification #869669

Asked May 22, 2024, 5:48 PM EDT

Wondering what this plant / weed is that is all over my yard?

Hennepin County Minnesota

Expert Response

It looks like one of the fleabanes. It would be easier to identify after it flowers, however I recommend removing it before it gets any bigger.

Can you recommend a way to remove it ?
There is really a lot of it.  Thanks, Susan

At the end of the link about fleabane there are management or eradication methods. If you would like to use  a non chemical method covering the weeds with layers of cardboard and excluding light and water for a full season will klll the plants. Seeds will still germinate for several years and new plants will need to be removed.
Thanks for the info.
