Our Boxwood hedge was healthy in the fall. It’s about 10 years old. Suddenly the entire hedge - in 3 non-continuous sections appears brown and dead.
? Cause
Should I replace it with a different species?

Hello
This could be boxwood leaf miner damage or box blight. Would you take a couple stems with tan and damaged leaves attached, layon a smooth plain paper( not paper towel because the texture confuses camera focus), and take a picture? Also lay a few leaves flat face up, and a few face down and take a picture.

These shrubs look like they were recently clipped. Were the tips all green before you clipped them?
