Good afternoon and thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there are many, many reasons for turf to turn brown and die. It is very hard to diagnose just from a photo. It could be insect related (white grubs), or even a pathogen, or environmental. I would encourage you to submit a sample to the Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic where they can adequately assess your turf and give you an accurate diagnosis.
