Hello. Thanks for letting me try to help answer your question. Would you please reply with pictures close up and also far enough away so I can see the whole evergreen. More pics the better. Do you know type? Any changes in soil? Noticing any small pine cones in odd spots? Any construction going on?
Thanks
Thanks
The soil seems to be a little dryer, try to send you a picture no construction going on.
Hi what you have is a Japanese yew. Normally they are quite healthy. They can bite a bit temperamental. They don’t like too much or too little water. There can be winter damage or damage from salt if near a road
your hedge seems to be by your house. How are your gutters? If they are overflowing your yews may get too much water.
Check the soil they are in by sticking your finger in it about an inch. Is it rock hard and dry or too moist. The bricks on the house could also be drying the soil and the house could be blocking rain. Do some investigating and accommodate the yew. Here is a fact sheet for you
If nothing shows you could have twig or needle blight. You would have to take that into the local extension office for diagnosis
