Red growth on leaf of cherry tree #869572

Curious as to what this is and how if/how it should be handled.

Cherry trees can have many issues but only a few are concerning. We think this may be related to a mite or midge forming gall maker.
Galls are just abnormal tissue swellings but don't hurt the tree.
