Removing a large Jade branch #869513

I have a large Jade plant. A branch is growing almost at a 40 degree angle from the original stem.
I would like to cut that branch off and plant the cut branch in another pot.
I've read online to leave a cut branch alone for about 2 weeks until it forms a callous and then plant it.
I'm not sure what to do with the main stem with the cut branch removed and what to do with that open exposed raw area on the main stem.
I'm sending a picture.
Thank you in advance

We are not specialists in Jade Plants. The only advice is can give you is what I have found. I am giving you a link. As far as the open wound on the main plant, it would make sense to also allow that to dry and callus over. https://succulenttips.com/grow/propagate/how-to-propagate-jade-plants/
