Expert Response
Hi there,
We have seen evidence of a foliage pathogen causing defoliation in moist areas in both Coos and Curry Counties. We are in the process of identifying the pathogen. If you are able, please send a close-up photo of infected leaves as well as a photo of the entire tree. This past winter and spring were very wet and relatively warm in our area, this can contribute to an uptick in foliar pathogens. There have been similar reports further south, and those trees recovered from the defoliation. We will continue to monitor affected areas in southern Oregon. I will follow this up with an email, it might be easier for you to text me photos directly.
