My dogs have pooped in the garden many times over the last years in our old garden area. We would like to restart a garden there again. Some dog poop was filled into the soil. Can we grow vegetables on that dirt. Even carrots and potatoes ? Thank you

Hi Jennifer,
Clear away all the poop. If the poop is all old, for example from last winter you are probably fine. My dogs have periodically pooped in my garden and I just pick it up right away. If you know your dogs are healthy and don't catch and eat wild animals then I think you are fine. I would in the future pick up all poop while it is still freezing outside and block them from the garden area after the weather warms up.
