Hello, I just moved into a new home with a sod-lawn that was installed around Jan 1 of this year, but it is bumpy and uneven. I'm inquiring as to how long one should wait before using a water-filled roller, and then perhaps sand leveling, and the optimal time to aerate if necessary.

I would start rolling the lawn.
I would also topdress with native soil, rather than sand. I would apply around 1/4" and rake or push broom this into the turfgrass. I would do this again in July, August, and September. After 3 or 4 applications (totaling 0.75" to 1" of material) things should be smooth. You could also roll the lawn after every topdressing and brooming/raking
