Treated Ash Tree #869364

Asked May 20, 2024, 8:28 PM EDT

There is an Ash Tree next to my home. I live in a HOA in Shoreview. The association treated the ash trees twice for emerald ash boar, This spring it has dropped a lot of new leaves, Is this a sign of an unhealthy ash tree?

Expert Response

It is not clear from your question whether this tree is one of the trees being treated for EAB or not.  It is also not clear when your association last treated your trees.  There are a couple of different pesticides used.  The best, for larger trees, has a 2-year protocol.

If this tree belongs to your association, have the association ask their arborist to look at the tree.  Also find out when this tree was last treated for EAB.

If it is a neighbor's tree, you could gently remind them to have an arborist look for EAB.  If it has EAB, it should be removed.
