Container perennials #869349

Asked May 20, 2024, 6:24 PM EDT

Please list safe perennials flowering plants that survive MN winters in containers. I want to eliminate that annual costs and time to ease my work for longevity.

Expert Response

Hi Vickie,

I suggest using perennials in your summer pots but planting them in the ground in the fall.  Next spring, you can dig them up and put them back in pots.  The pot doesn't provide enough insulation for perennials to survive the winter.

I hope this helps.  Please reach out if you have any more questions.
