I have a soggy backyard, at or near the water table level. I am looking for tree and shrub solutions that are hardy enough for our climate in Anchorage, to soak up some of that water. The yard is small, so I'm focusing on greenery that isn't too wide. Fast growing would be a plus. I hate cottonwood! Any additional information on how to plant and care for them would be helpful.
